Nikkei Breeze is a conceptual restaurant website created for a Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei dining experience. The site combines storytelling, menu browsing, reviews, and online ordering into one cohesive digital experience.

The Concept

Nikkei cuisine brings together Japanese precision and Peruvian ingredients and traditions. I wanted the website to reflect that same combination through a visual experience that feels fresh, inviting, and connected to the food.

Rather than designing the site as a simple digital menu, I wanted visitors to be able to discover the restaurant, learn about its food and story, and move naturally toward placing an order.

User Experience

The experience is organized around three primary paths: discovering the restaurant, exploring the menu, and ordering.

The navigation keeps these destinations accessible while allowing the homepage to introduce the restaurant through imagery, featured content, and calls to action.

The menu was designed to make a large amount of information easy to scan, with dishes organized into clear categories and supporting descriptions and pricing.

Visual Design

The visual system combines deep blues and turquoise with warm food photography to create a visual connection between the ocean-inspired name and the restaurant's cuisine. Circular image treatments and layered layouts create movement throughout the pages while giving food photography a prominent role in the experience.

Typography and spacing were kept clean and structured to balance the more expressive photography and textures.

Menu & Ordering

The menu experience was designed around quick browsing and clear information.

Dishes are organized into categories including starters, main courses, desserts, and beverages, allowing users to find what they're looking for without navigating through multiple pages. The ordering experience continues that structure through a shopping cart where users can review selections, adjust quantities, and move toward checkout.

Restaurant Story

The site also includes dedicated Reviews and About experiences.

The About page introduces the restaurant's approach to Nikkei cuisine and its connection to Japanese and Peruvian culinary traditions, while the Reviews page gives visitors another way to understand the dining experience through customer perspectives. This gives the website a purpose beyond ordering, it creates a complete digital introduction to the restaurant.

Final Experience

Nikkei Breeze brings together branding, photography, information architecture, UI design, and e-commerce functionality into a single restaurant experience.

The project challenged me to balance a visually expressive design with practical UX considerations, creating an interface that feels engaging while still making everyday tasks like browsing a menu and placing an order straightforward.
