Recollections explores the way memory changes over time and how personal experiences can feel different depending on how we perceive them. Rather than treating memory as a fixed record, the project looks at it as something fluid, shaped by emotion, perspective, and the passage of time.

The Concept

Memories rarely feel exactly the same every time we revisit them. Details can become unclear, certain moments become more vivid, and different perspectives can change how an experience is remembered. I wanted to translate that feeling into a visual experience that encouraged viewers to question what they were seeing and how their own perspective affected it. The project uses overlapping color, transparency, and shifting visual information to create moments where two different images can exist at once.

Visual System

The visual system is built around two contrasting color layers: blue and yellow. Printed imagery is separated into overlapping color channels and displayed on clear acrylic panels. When viewed through the installation, the layers interact and create different visual relationships depending on the viewer's position and perspective. The result is intentionally imperfect. Images can appear clearer from one position and more fragmented from another, reflecting the way memories can shift depending on how we approach them.

Physical Exhibition

The physical installation extends the concept beyond the printed page. Clear acrylic panels allow the imagery to overlap while maintaining a sense of separation between the layers. The transparent surfaces create depth and encourage viewers to move around the work rather than experiencing it from a single fixed viewpoint. The installation became an important part of the project because the viewer's physical perspective directly affects what they see.

Digital Experience

The physical exhibition is accompanied by an interactive website that expands the idea of memory into a shared experience. The website, Memory Token, allows visitors to read and contribute short personal recollections. Instead of presenting memory as something belonging to one person, the archive creates a collection of experiences from different perspectives.

The interface was designed to feel simple and personal, allowing the submitted memories themselves to remain the focus.

Final Outcome

Recollections combines experimental print, installation, and digital interaction to explore how memory can be both personal and changeable. The project became less about recreating a specific memory and more about creating a space where viewers could consider their own; what they remember, what they might have forgotten, and how their perspective changes
the story.
