During my internship with Southern Utah University's Graduate & Online Marketing team, I created marketing materials for graduate and online programs across the university. The work required balancing multiple audiences and programs while working within an established university brand.
The Challenge
Graduate and online programs serve a wide range of prospective students, each with different goals and areas of interest. The challenge was to create campaign materials that could communicate specific programs clearly while maintaining a consistent visual connection to the university.
Design Approach
I worked within SUU's existing brand guidelines while developing layouts and visual treatments that could adapt across different programs. The campaign included materials promoting programs such as Political Science, Criminal Justice, History, and Communication. I focused on creating clear visual hierarchy, strong typography, and flexible layouts that could accommodate different amounts of information without losing consistency.
Applications
The campaign extended across both print and digital materials, requiring designs to work at different sizes and across different communication channels.
Working on these pieces also gave me experience designing within real-world production constraints and responding to feedback while managing multiple projects at once.
Final Outcome
The campaign gave me the opportunity to work within an established brand while still making thoughtful design decisions across a range of marketing materials.
It also strengthened my ability to take an existing visual system and apply it consistently across different audiences, formats, and messages.
